Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity
by Fr. Ivan Olmo

“You must now know, and fix in your heart, that the LORD is God in the heavens above and on earth below, and that there is no other.”  At the heart of discipleship, its call, vocation and gracious invitation is the sharing of a unique and special mission, the mission that Christ is personally given directly from the Father and personally shared in the Spirit with those who Jesus loves, chooses, calls and sends.  Baptized into the marvelous Kingdom of God and made beloved sons and daughters of the Father, through the Son and in the Holy Spirit, you are now heirs to that mission and the glorious fulfillment of what that mission promises to deliver to you and what the mission promises to deliver you from, which is deliverance from every evil.  You have become recipients to all that the mission entails and provides, which is healing of heart and soul, forgiveness of the effects of personal sin, peaceful reconciliation to God and to one another, eternal life, freedom, happiness and endless joy forever.   In Christ and through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, you have become beneficiaries of the unique gratuitous gift of the Father and the glorious freedom the mission brings.  God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten beloved Son Jesus on a mission of a most profound unique love to heal hearts that are grieving and broken, bring freedom to those who feel imprisoned or feel captive, to reconcile our past and current hurts and to develop and promote peace and joy throughout our eternal lives. Christ invites you in a particular and unique way to personally participate and share in his heavenly mission now entrusted to you.  Is your heart seriously burning and inflamed with the passion, spirit and sacrificial love of Christ your brother who saved you?  Is your heart on fire with the faithful covenant love of God your Father who created you?  Is your heart truly aching, hungry and truly set ablaze with the tongues of fire that landed on the disciples from the Holy Spirit who cleansed you, washed you in the waters of baptism and pours out his divine love directly into your heart?  Do you desire to know God ever more intimately, to fix your heart on him and love him more profoundly with a pure heart and to serve him ever more faithfully as Jesus did by sharing the mission to love and serve one another?  Nothing can separate us from the loving mission of God. Not even you.
